First Daft Punk Mix since Alive 2007

It has been a couple days since Daft Punk officially released Random Access Memories and its confused reception has left their most devoted fans grasping to maintain that nostalgic Daft Punk feel. Long before the analog - slightly sinister - sounds of RAM hit our shore, France was enjoying the robot's first continuous mix since 2007. The two hour mix catalogs the sample-heavy originals that made us fall in love with the duo in the first place, as well as some tracks to reaffirm your love of the disco gods. (Not to mention a DJ Mehdi track - R.I.P!)

So it's very rare when i get worked up about a track and how smooth it is. Last time i was this impressed was when i heard XXYYXX's About you. Such lush and creamy synths, the chord progressions play in the pain spoken in the Mary J. Blige lyrics. An amazing remix you should download and keep an eye out for our friends Haez and Spaceman Unlimited.

Blue Version

The name Blue Version quickly conjures up memories of a simpler time of pixelated creatures on the holy grail of handhelds, the Gameboy. A time where graphics weren't as important as the game itself, but overall enchanted young people everywhere. A simple aesthetic that resonates with Producer Blue Version. His music features stripped down and intelligently designed percussions that seem simple, but offer much complexity to the palate of music.


Blue Version has been cooking up some amazing remixes and edits that only aid in the original. Some amazing things to come from Blue Version and i hope we continue to see more remixes and originals.

Waves ft. Gent and Jawns [Event]

Waves is a party series that takes place in Long Beach area. Created by ARNTRE, the same people who brought you Trapical and Smurko from Shakedown. This is a very rare show with drink specials and more. Oh and we haven't even talked about the lineup. Smurko will bring you that bass, 2Deep will get you dancing with a girl, and then the headliners Gent and Jawns will turn it up.

 Gent and Jawns recent success with radio play and mad support from Diplo and many others has made them a powerhouse producer and DJ combo. They will be live at Waves this month rinsing out new tunes. If you arent familiar with them, then we got you!
